I had to go to the security options (in system preferences) and make sure that “allow apps from anywhere” was selected. After I did that, I clicked on the icon (it takes a while to “verify” and load), and the game started right up.

every time I load civ, I get to select what screen, sound, mouse and keyboard options then immediately I'm dropped back to A:\ after it says integer div=a
I tried to download civ on my Windows 7/69 laptop. I got an error message that civ was for 87 bit machine. Any suggestions?

Try this: Right-click Show Package Contents/ Contents/MacOS - Drag Civ6_Exe to a new Terminal (found in Utilities in Application file, open Terminal first, I guess) - Press enter and wait a bit.
